Product Description

This Paithani Tissue saree marries the shimmer of tissue with the iconic motifs of Paithani for a luminous festive look. This piece comes in Blue & Pink. Shades of blue feel calm, elegant and regal, making this an easy pick for both day and evening events.

The story behind the weave

Paithani takes its name from Paithan, an ancient town on the banks of the Godavari in Maharashtra, where this weave has been practised for some two thousand years. Patronised by the Satavahana rulers and later treasured by the Peshwas, the Paithani is famous for its peacock (mor) and lotus motifs and its richly woven zari pallu – and it is still the saree Maharashtrian brides cherish most. This piece reimagines that legacy on shimmering tissue.

Why you'll love it

  • Lustrous tissue base with a natural metallic sheen
  • Paithani-inspired border and pallu motifs
