The story behind the weave

Mashru, meaning 'permitted', is a weave from Patan and Kutch in Gujarat. It was made with a lustrous silk face and a soft cotton back, so that it could be worn by those who preferred not to wear pure silk against the skin. Its glossy stripes and bright colours make it instantly recognisable.

Care: Dry clean only. Store folded in a soft muslin or cotton cloth, away from direct sunlight and damp; refold every few months so the zari does not crease. Avoid spraying perfume or deodorant directly on the fabric.
